Hampton Park Child Care Centre La Kosta - Philosophy

At La Kosta Childcare Centre and Kindergarten, it is our belief that through a play based program, children can be supported and encouraged to reach their full potential and accomplish their own personal milestones and aspirations.  We are committed to allowing children to grow and learn as individuals, providing them with both educational and life experiences to explore at their own pace within a controlled and safe environment, ensuring that these experiences are guided by each child’s own independence, interests and desire for challenge.

We understand the importance of a secure environment in promoting children’s development, and aim to ensure that our centre has a feeling of homeliness and a welcoming atmosphere for all children and their families.  We believe that the most important feature in creating a home-like environment is the involvement of families within the centre, and will endeavour to extend varied opportunities for families to contribute to the centre and enrich their child’s care environment.  We aim to instil a sense of comfort and trust when families leave their child in our care, and it is our hope that families may carry on their daily lives, knowing that their children are safe and well cared for.  Similarly, we wish to promote acceptance and understanding, and build positive, respectful relationships that allow families to seek our support when needed.  We recognise that our staff are essential in creating a high quality centre, and therefore seek to provide them with a satisfying and safe working environment.  We are also committed to supporting and encouraging our staff, and allowing them opportunities for personal and professional development, ensuring that they continue to develop to their full potential as Early Childhood professionals and provide the high quality care that our children deserve and that our centre strives for.We value the environment, and will seek to awaken in each child an appreciation for and awareness of the importance of our natural surroundings.  Our centre will provide experiences aimed at encouraging children to respect and admire nature and natural beauty, and further enhance their aesthetic development.  We will also employ and encourage environmentally sound and resourceful practices, to ensure that the centre and our children do all possible to minimise our effect on the world in which we live.  We strive for each child to become environmentally aware and active, and identify their responsibility towards caring for our world both now and in the future.
