Lea - Centre Manager
Maroubra Junction Early Education Centre is managed by Lea, our Centre Director who has a wide range of knowledge and commitment to families and their children while in care. Lea has 11 years of experience as a Early Childhood Teacher and Centre Director in the Early Childhood field. She holds Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) degree and is dedicated high quality care and nurturing for all children, families and staff she works with. Lea’s philosophy on how children learn through PLAY inspires her staff to create innovative and developmentally appropriate programs. She believes this in turn promotes the development of the ‘whole’ child. As children are very curious, they love to explore their environment and discover through their play ways they can further develop their life skills. This can be done through cause and effect, eg., a child drops a toy from a high chair, s/he will discover that the toy will only return if someone picks it up and places it back. Therefore, PLAY is assisting the child to learn about communication, socialising and problem solving. Lea strives to ensure all families feel a true sense of belonging via open communication so they can feel confident with care provided and comfortable at all times to speak with her.Lea works alongside well trained, motivated and caring staff who assist her in making the Centre a great joy each and every day for the children, parents and other team members.

Nursery Room
6 weeks - 2 years
Our beautiful Nursery Room offers an exciting program for children aged 0 - 2 years. Each day children will participate in a variety of planned and spontaneous activities including art and craft, music and movement and language group time experiences. Our Nursery room has its own playground specifically for our 0 - 2 age group and a separate sleep area for our babies. Our day's are planned by a qualified diploma trained carer to promote all areas of child development and individual milestones through discovery and fun experiences. We also have a team of five carers in this room to always give high quality care to our children. Our youngest members of children in the centre are always developing towards their milestones and it is with great joy we share in each and every child's adventurous day, through their ongoing discoveries.
Toddler Room
2 years - 3 years
Our Toddler Room provides children with a safe and educational environment that gives children the confidence to reach their wonderful potential of continuing to grow and develop. We provide experiences across all developmental areas to encourage their emerging skills as a child. The program reflects the diversity of our centre and children are given opportunities to explore their identity within their families and in the broader context of the world. We work in partnership with families to promote consistency between the home environment and the centre. We also encourage families to participate in our programming ideas for their children through communication with carers at all times. Children's development is tracked through individual observations weekly and individual analysis of these allows the teacher to program and plan to the children's strengths and identify focus areas of development.
Preschool 1 Room
3 years - 4 years
The Preschool 1 Room offer a challenging and stimulating programme which will not only help your child achieve their developmental goals, but also to have a lot of fun along the way! We follow a school readiness program which prepares children for the big step to "big school" and gives them a solid foundation in Literacy and Numeracy. We follow the Letter land program, where children learn the alphabet and basic phonemic sounds using exciting games and kinaesthetic activities. We celebrate the multi-cultural dynamic of our student body and give the children engaging experiences where they can express their growing identities and explore the environment and world around them. Our small class sizegives genuine one-to-one teacher time and helps our new students to settle in quickly. We hold regular parent-teacher conferences where families can speak openly and in confidence with their child's teacher to plan their future learning goals together.
Preschool 2 Room
4 years - 5 years
