Mackay - Walkerston Early Learning Centre Wonder Kids - Our Centre Alicia - Centre Manager Alicia Fitzpatrick has been working in the Child Care industry for the past 12 years.  She started out as a volunteer whilst in Year 10 at school and has steadily worked her way through the ranks to a Director position.  During this time, she had the pleasure of also taking her qualifications overseas and working in a Kindy while holding a full time Nanny position for 2 children. Nursery - Sea Horse Room

6 weeks - 2 years

We provide a warm caring environment for all our babies in our Nursery. The children are able to play both inside or outside at any time in their specially designed play area, and then retreat to the large, climate controlled sleeping room. The Carers are committed to ensuring the child’s home routine is continued whilst in care.

Toddlers - Star Fish Room

15 months - 3 years

Our beautiful, colourful toddlers room is a Mecca for little minds to explore the environment and equipment whilst discovering new experiences and skills along the way. It is the perfect room for kicking off self help skills and the introduction of toileting! The children are constantly immersed in music, language and games.

Junior Kindy - Shell Room

15 months - 3 years

This is the room where toileting becomes part of the child’s daily routine – be it from acquainting themselves with the idea of it, to the full use of the toileting facilities. Their overall skills are improving to the point they are becoming more self aware and wanting to do more for themselves. Stories and music form a large part of the program.

Kindy - Fish Room

2 1/2 - 3 years

Our Kindy room is a huge environment, specifically designed to nurture the children’s imagination. The children are able build on their socialisation skills, whilst pushing towards independence in self help and self explanation. This is achieved through their ever growing language abilities. The children are moving away from their solitary play and we begin to see more cooperative play situations and friendships start to bloom.

Pre Prep - Crab Room

3 - 5 years

This is the room where the children really start to find themselves. They are getting closer and closer to entering the school system, so we ensure they are developing the ability to recognise letters and numerals and are able to use their language in times of conflict. Their ability to make friendships with their peers has increased and the program is almost completely run by the children, with the Carers closely monitoring it and guiding them in the right direction.
