Sophia Kostos - Centre Manager

Sophia holds an Associate Diploma in Social Science (Child Studies) and has been in child care for many years. Having recently moved back to Melbourne from Sydney, Sophia is thrilled to be leading such a dedicated team of childcare professionals.

Sophia’s focuses on promoting healthy relationships with all staff, parents and children. She encourages independence with each child while creativity, imagination and self esteem are carefully nurtured. Sophia also focuses on her team providing a developmental program where the children are challenged, allowing them to further develop their confidence.

Honeybees Room (Babies)

6 weeks - 16 months

We aim to provide a warm, happy and safe environment where children are allowed to observe and explore at their own level. This is an age group that respond to lots of visual and sound stimulation and there is plenty here in our Honeybees Room! Each baby’s routine is different and our qualified staff certainly cater to each child’s needs. We pride ourselves on one on one communications and experiences with the carers in the room to help nurture a strong and long lasting relationship.

Butterflies Room (Toddlers)

16 months - 3 years

Children in this age group are now more then ready to explore the environment. We ensure that the Butterflies Room is not only stimulating but also challenging to facilitate the development of inquisitive minds. We provide a warm and safe environment; we provide an age appropriate program that ensures each child’s individual needs and interests are met, helping them to further develop. We also provide parents and families with opportunities to incorporate new ideas and suggestions and evaluate our programs. We feel parent involvement and input helps to run a successful program in our room.

Fireflies Room (Kindergarten)

3 - 5 years

The Fireflies are preparing for big school! Our program is educationally based which caters for further challenge covering all developmental areas including, Science and Maths. We provide a whole learning environment where children are treated equally in an environment that respects, accepts and positively acknowledges each child. Our educators recognise that each child has a unique background with individual beliefs, values and traditions. We focus on School readiness which helps with the transitioning to School. We have an ‘Open Door Policy’ and would love any parent to be involved in our centre and program.
