Boondall  Early Learning Centre  - Philosophy Our Boondall Early Learning Centre vision is to create a care environment where all children, families and staff feel safe, valued and respected in an inclusive learning community so they have every opportunity to develop to their fullest potential. At our Boondall Childcare Centre we provide a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn, grow, explore and discover.We feel it is essential to respect and treat all children as individuals with individual  emotional, learning and behavioural strengths and needs.

At our Boondall Early Learning Centre we recognise that families are the principle influence in their children’s lives and therefore strive to develop close links with the home so that we can support and compliment each other in the important role of nurturing children through the early childhood years so they grow and make a valuable contribution to the wider community We recognise that it is each unique individual child, family and staff member that create and enrich our Boondall childcare centre community.

By working towards building positive partnerships with families information can be effectively communicated and children have the best opportunities to grow.We recognise the importance of all children, families and staff feeling empowered to share their ideas interests and feelings and take steps to enhance each child’s strengths, competencies, self-esteem and concept Centre practices reflect the culture and beliefs of the children, their families and the wider community.

We treat all children fairly and respectfully and this is evident through every aspect of the care we provide. All staff hold a positive view of children and their capabilities and recognise the valuable contribution that children make to their own learning and the learning of others. We believe that children learn through relationships and social partnerships that allow them to flourish with and alongside others creating a balance between self discovery and social learning.

At our Boondall Early Learning Centre we support children in obtaining essential tools for acquiring knowledge and in doing so encourage their excitement at the potential of learning. We believe that children learn best through an integrated emergent curriculum based on their interests, learning abilities/styles and open ended experiences. This curriculum is created through children's ideas and interests, families aspirations, links to the early years curriculum and current research and theories.We believe that all learning areas, including but not limited to, literacy, numeracy, information communication technologies, sciences and the arts should form the basis of everyday play based learning experiences in a variety of different contexts.
