Beaconhill Children's Centre Philosophy - Beaconsfield

The staff at Beaconhill Drive Children's Centre believe in a child centred environment and support and encourage cultural diversity. We strongly believe that children should be treated as individuals. Children should be given the opportunity to become independent and make their own choices. We believe that learning through play is important and that all activities should be based on observations of the children, they should be stimulating, challenging and based on the children’s abilities and interests.

Learning through daily routines is also important and will encourage independence in the children to do daily tasks by themselves. Activities and daily routines will also encourage and support curiosity in the children. We believe that parental involvement is important and we encourage parents to interact and communicate with staff on a daily basis about their child, any concerns they may have and also ways in which we could improve our centre.
We understand that individual child rearing practices are important to many families and where possible we aim to follow these, along with our own practices. We also aim to keep a consistent routine between home and the centre so your child is not unsettled in either environment. We take safety very seriously for both children and staff. Our staff are fully qualified within their field as well as having first aid training. We provide ongoing training when courses are updated or when we have children in our centre with additional needs and certain medical conditions that may require quick action by staff members. Inclusion is important to our centre and we have many procedures and community aid lines, which help us to integrate children into the centre if it is required. Upon your child’s arrival at our centre, we will do our very best to make this transition period an easy time ensuring that your child feels safe, welcomed and comfortable. We are a centre that is here for your children and our main focus is on the children and ensuring that their needs are met and we strive to keep them safe, healthy and happy during their time at the centre.

  Beaconhill Drive Childcare Centre

Respecting that parents are the primary caregiver and first educator, our role is to work in partnership to complement an environment which is positive and caring and where children can learn and feel reassurance.

Beaconhill Drive Children's Centre intends to provide a home- away from home environment which stimulates and inspires children’s natural curiosity and delight.

We also recognise the value the diversity of culture within the Australian society. Parents, friends and the wider community are an integral part of a child’s environment. Providing children with exposure to different cultures, music or arts; facilitates the progression of a child’s perception of an integrated society of multiculturalism and equality. The network of parents and families provides children with learning opportunities of knowledge and understanding of the world we live in.
