Beaconsfield township is located 46km south-east of Melbourne CBD on the Old Princess Highway and is a sparsely populated semi-rural suburb in Melbourne's fringe south-east.
The main street shopping strip and light industry is on the Princess Highway. Beaconsfield has two primary schools, Beaconsfield Primary and St Francis Xavier College.
