Computer Gym

Each Friday we have a "Computer Gym" Program visit our Pre School Children. Computer Gym is recognised as a valuable learning resource by hundreds of education centres throughout Australia. Computer Gym provides your children with computer skills, numeracy skills, literacy skills, self esteem, confidence, concentration, memory, social skills, imagination, creativity, reasoning and lots more!!!

Letterland – Successfully Teaching your child to Read and Write

Letterland is a unique, phonics based approach to teaching, reading, writing and spelling for 3-8 year olds. Letterland provides a link between letter sounds and letter shapes. At Beaconhill Childcare Centre we believe it is essential that our preschool children are given a solid foundation in phonics before moving to primary school.

Letterland helps to build this foundation in a unique play based way. Your preschool child has free access to computers at Beaconhill.

This well established and successful system will help teach your child
• to listen and use spoken language
• explore and experiment with language
• sustain attentive listening and respond to what they have heard
• extend their vocabulary and explore the meaning of sounds and new words
• hear and say initial sounds and words
• link sounds to letters, name sounds and letters of the alphabet
• know that print carries meaning and is read from left to right. 

Music and Movement Programme

Beaconhill Drive Children’s centre is introducing a fantastic new music and movement program for the children. This program will be running Tuesdays and Fridays every week for all children within the centre. This program has the added benefit to parents that this is provided within the centre building and at no additional cost. In this day and age families are looking for the best value for their money as well as quality education for their children. At Beaconhill Drive Children’s Centre we are providing the best of everything for our families. With a room especially set up for music and movement and a piano for interactive sessions, there is also the added benefit that the teacher of these classes already knows the children. Sessions will run for between 20 minutes for our babies through to 45 minutes for the older children, all twice weekly. These sessions will focus on singing, dancing, musical instruments and following simple directions with actions and each month two themes will keep the children inspired. These themes will also be linked to activities in the main daily programming within each room. The children will look forward to performing their masterpieces of musical abilities to family and friends with regular concerts throughout the year.
